Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform scans and related tests as ordered by physicians
  • Set up and prepare the examination tables and equipment, and make sure that there is efficiency in all procedures
  • Ensure the accuracy of data generated during examinations
  • Assist in the preparation of radiological films and analysis
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
  • Identify and respond to emergency situations
  • Document all performed procedures, as needed
  • Keep up with technological advances in the field

Work Hours and Benefits:

This is a full-time position with competitive salary and benefits. The Radiologic Technologist will work 40 hours per week with shift hours that are set by the scheduling team.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess ARRT certification
  • Two years of experience in an acute care setting is preferred
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must have a demonstrated commitment to quality care
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate with team members
  • Must demonstrate courteous and professional behavior

Training and Education:

Candidates must have a complete ARRT approved radiologic technology training program and have successfully completed all required elements.

What a typical day looks like for a radiologic technologist

On a daily basis, a radiologic technologist performs diagnostic imaging examinations such as X-rays, computed tomography (CT) scans, or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). They also follow physician's instructions and apply their knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and radiation protection to obtain optimal patient diagnostic images. A radiologic technologist must also be detail oriented and assess radiographic images for technical quality, identify findings and anomalies, and provide feedback to physicians. Additionally, they provide patient care and education before, during, and after examinations and assist and explain exam procedures to patient. They answer questions, provide support, and demonstrate proper positioning techniques. They must also monitor and adjust equipment settings, interacting with the patient and colleagues to ensure patient safety.
