A Salon Assistant assists a licensed cosmetologist in performing tasks related to the day-to-day operations of a hair salon. Depending upon the size of the salon, the assistant may be responsible for sweeping floors and washing or polishing salon chairs. Other duties include answering telephones, making changes for clients, and taking clients' money. In addition, the assistant may also be responsible for creating schedules and maintaining records on all incoming merchandise.
