He or she is responsible for managing and directing a company's financial policies, both short-term and long-term. Typically, they report to the CEO or Owner. Job responsibilities include building and administering the financial structure of the company, monitoring cash budget and capital spending, directing corporate tax planning, allocating investment dollars among different investment vehicles, overseeing dividends on the common stock, evaluating industries that may have interest in acquiring the company, and direct budgeting on all functions of the business.
